The use of herbal formulas is the main treatment method within Traditional Chinese Medicine. Although acupuncture was the first Chinese method of treatment to gain wide acceptance in the West, Chinese herbalism is quickly establishing itself as one of the most popular and effective alternative therapies in the West.
Chinese herbal medicine may include vegetable, animal, and mineral ingredients. However, the majority of ingredients are from vegetable sources; Leaves, flowers, twigs, stems, roots, tubers, rhizomes, and bark are among the parts of the vegetable used.
Chinese herbs often have prompt results in enhancing overall energy while calming nervousness and improving function of all organs. Chinese herbs can be a powerful adjunct to acupuncture care. They can strengthen your body, or clear it of problems like a cold, fever, pain, or infertility, fatigue, or chronic problems. Herbs can be used daily and they are inexpensive.
Shiatsu is a manual therapy; the practitioner works with the skeletal, muscular, circulatory and digestive systems of the patients to restore the proper balance and coordination of these systems. By restoring proper communication and coordination, greater health and ease is obtained. Shiatsu is based on the principles of traditional Chinese medicine, Asian touch therapies such as Tui Na, and the western principles of human physiology and psychology. Shiatsu was developed as a unified system by Shizuto Masunaga in Japan in the twentieth century.
Cupping is an ancient Chinese method of causing local congestion. A partial vacuum is created in cups placed on the skin either by means of heat or suction. Cupping brings fresh blood to the area and improves circulation and is widely used for aches and pain relief for reasons described above but is also used to treat respiratory problems, coughs, wheezing and digestive problems.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the entire human body is reflected on the ear; therefore, the stimulation of an ear acupoint by a needle, laser, or seed yields a positive healing effect on the body. Auricular (ear) acupuncture is commonly implemented for the treatments of alcohol and drug addictions, weight loss and to help stop smoking.
The electromagnetic heat lamp possesses special healing properties. While the patient is relaxing, the lamp’s heat activates the movements of essential elements in the patient's body. The absorption of these healing elements promotes metabolism, regulates physiological deficiencies, diminishes inflammation, enhances immunity, and eases pain. The electromagnetic heat lamp is commonly implemented in the treatment of muscular pain, soft tissue injury, arthritis, and skin conditions.
Tui Na is a Chinese body work that involves a therapeutic manipulation of the body as deemed necessary for the relief of pain in conjunction with acupuncture or laser therapies.
Electroacupuncture utilizes electrical stimulation of the
points instead of needles; therefore, it is a completely painless treatment strategy. It is predominately used to treat pain conditions in order to stimulate the channels that are blocked by the pain.
